Become the Banker is a holistic family- owned financial planning firm with over 70 years of combined successful experience. They help clients create and protect wealth, while limiting risk. They’re also educators registered with the Division of Insurance in over 12 different states. They provide continuing education and pre-licensing education credits for financial professionals such as CFP’s, CPA’s, financial advisors, and insurance representatives.
Become the Banker started their YouTube channel back in 2010. They had a few popular videos that organically grew over time, but they weren’t consistently creating and distributing new content, or growing their channel.
They came to us to start actively growing their channel, audience, and views with the intention to ultimately raise awareness of their services and to generate more lead flow so that they could help more clients on their financial journey.
Over the past two years of working together, we’ve been able to help Become the Banker grow their YouTube views, subscribers and watch time substantially. They’ve also recently become a YouTube Partner which has opened up a new revenue stream for their business. Additionally, we have started to manage their YouTube Advertising to help generate leads for their business, and we are currently achieving a CPC of $38.40.

We helped identify their target customers online, what video content they’re searching for and consuming, and then developed a content strategy to ensure that their video’s captured attention, and key search terms. Our work included keyword research, competitor analysis, and analytics review.
We audited their YouTube channel and provided recommendations on how to improve the layout, messaging and branding. We also help optimize their videos (new releases and prior catalogue) on an ongoing basis. This work involves providing recommended titles, thorough and well linked descriptions, chapter creation, tag optimization, annotations, cards, end screens, closed captioning and thumbnails.
Great thumbnails are key to CTR success, so we developed a consistent and engaging design for their videos. We also overhauled their YouTube channel with a refreshed banner and avatar, as well as CTA button assets. In addition to graphics, we also help edit video content and ads.
Each month we provide consultations that go over strategy, content, and results. From there we recommend the best path forward to continue improving and growing the channel.
We manage a monthly ad spend on behalf of the client, with the goal of generating leads. We handle every aspect from campaign strategy, to ongoing management, to then reporting on the results. We started managing their YouTube ad spend in January, 2021 and have since driven 14,628 clicks to their landing page, resulting in 926 conversions at an average cost of $38.40. To achieve these results we use a variety of video assets, including some the client has created, and others that our team edits using their footage.
We started their advertising campaign by sending traffic to their website. We quickly demonstrated that this method wouldn’t work since there are a lot of distractions on the website. We suggested the client create a specific landing page instead, which they did.
This new landing immediately boosted our conversions and we were able to build a remarketing audience based on this new data set which could then be used to further improve the campaigns’ performance.
We also begun A/B testing both Smart Search Campaigns and Search campaigns. The testing revealed that due to the budget and expensive CPC, Smart Search produced more favorable and cost-effective results.
We continue to optimize their campaigns, focusing on remarketing while also doing regular audience tests on the side. Running campaigns on cold audiences ensure that we constantly get fresh viewers to remarket to, so that we can sustain campaign performance.
