Their Story

Sounds True was founded in 1985 by Tami Simon with a clear mission: wake up the world. Since starting out as a project with one woman and her tape recorder, they have grown into a multimedia publishing company with more than 110 employees, a library of more than 3,000 titles featuring some of the leading teachers and visionaries of our time, and an ever-expanding customer base from across the world.

 

Sounds True has created the world’s largest living library of transformational teachings that support and accelerate spiritual awakening and personal transformation. They make this library available on multiple media platforms, one of which is YouTube. That’s where Vireo Video comes into the picture.

Sounds True was determined to build out their YouTube channel to leverage the platform organically. They wanted their channel to be more than just a video library, and instead be a place that fostered community and delivered real value to their audience.

 

Alongside organic efforts, they also wanted to utilize YouTube advertising to increase website traffic and sales for the various courses and programs they offer.

YouTube Content Strategy


After a thorough audit of the existing efforts, we worked with Sounds True to overhaul their YouTube channel from the ground up. We revamped thumbnail designs, channel banners, and created playlists to better organize their content and improve their subscribers experience.

We also started to optimize their videos for success on the platform. Each specific author received a tailored variation of this optimization process so that each video was attracting the right audience and finding viewers organically. Once viewers found the content, they would then be more likely to get exposed to all that Sounds True had to offer.

YouTube Advertising


We developed a two-pronged advertising approach that focused on two outcomes: lead generation and product purchase.

Firstly, we created an ad which allows prospects to sign up and attend a free video series. Then as we accumulate data on this audience with high intent, we create another ad which leads them to the sales landing page.

This multi-layered YouTube video ad campaign resulted in a positive ROAS because of it's approach to warming up an audience, and then driving conversions with those that were most likely to buy.
